Stargate (sometimes written as StarGate) are a Norwegian record production and songwriting team, consisting of Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen (often credited as Mikkel SE) working today in the genres of pop, R&B and hip hop. Their breakthrough single in the United States was the Billboard Hot 100 #1 "So Sick" by Ne-Yo, which they produced and co-wrote with Ne-Yo. The follow-up was "Sexy Love", also a US Top 10 single. Stargate worked with Ne-Yo co-writing and producing Rihanna´s hit "Unfaithful", which reached #6 on the Hot 100, #1 in Europe, and top 5 in 22 countries. They also produced and co-wrote the US #1 single "Irreplaceable" for Beyoncé, topping the Hot 100 for ten consecutive weeks, becoming the biggest song of 2007 on the Hot 100 Billboard Year End Chart 2007.
Now in 2009 Stargate has a new songwriter on their team, Ricardo Redd. Ricardo is a singer/songwriter/actor and has recieved several poetry awards from famous poets society, the international library of poetry, and several editors choice awards.
