My name is L-lyric aka Michael Lyles. I was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. I began my music career at the age of 17 while still in high school. Singing was my 1st love until I learn how to play the piano which opened up the way for me to compose and make tracks for myself and other's. Playing the piano opened up many more opportunities for me because as a self taught musician, I also learned how to play songs by listening to various melodies and sounds on the radio and head phones which enabled me to be able to produce music for singers as well as rappers according to current styles and sound. At the age of 18 I auditioned for a Non-Profit record Label by the name of :TEEN PATROL RECORDS where I was soon selected to be their 1 Producer & student Instructor for 3 years. A few month's after being selected, I had the opportunity to write, produce for and Collab with over 15 up and coming recording Artist's and a few Major Artist (R&B, Hip Hop and Pop) from Teen Patrol records and a few outside independent labels. Artist's names: (major) Big Thump- (unsign) Shella aka Blasian music, Baby-C, Lil-G, Vonya, Alan Jr, M.L, D.A.V, Nisha Holmes, Brianna, Phil G., Lou Boys, Playa Thugs, Ebonie, The G G’s, Lil wish and Black wood. I began with teen patrol in the year 2000 until 2003. By 2003 I was able to write and produce 3 Compilation album's, 14 EP album's and 10 Demo's for that label and their artist‘s. After receiving Additional Training at Local and Major Recording Studio's I decided to continue my endeavors musicly as a more advance record producer, song writer and singer. Production wise, I've been trained on how to operate Pro-Tools (HD and LE) in it's full capacity, mixing boards along with Engineer recording. I've also learned how to EQ, Compress and Master instrumental tracks and full songs. I'm currently learning how to EQ and Master in DIGITAL PERFORMER. Just recently 3 of my songs and tracks got placed with a Major Music Publisher in L.A whose specialise in Film and TV. The name of the companies is: AMUSICOM and CRUCIAL MUSIC, 2009.
