Artists

The music industry is changing so rapidly that the key to success in today’s music business simply means being independent. The days where record companies cultivating artists are long gone. Competition in every musical genre is stiff. Today’s artists must build their own fan base and sales track record before getting the recognition and support before getting a bigger distribution deal. Wouldn’t it be nice to have access to original beats from the leading independent music producers who are located throughout the world? Remember having access to the hottest music tracks gives you the edge you need to standout in the crowd!

How It Works

Step 1

Mike produces a hip hop beat at his project studio and wants to shop it to a worldwide audience. First, he prepares the beat for digital distribution. Second, he uploads the beat as an MP3 file along with relevant information. Third, Mike chooses either a non-exclusive or exclusive option to sell the beat. Lastly, Mike decides on a price for that particular beat. Once completed, BeatBuggy automatically submits the beat into a search engine and BeatBuggy’s Beat Store.

Step 2

During the course of a day, hundreds of potential members (artist, producers, A&Rs, etc.) search our site looking for a first-class beat. Members will rate Mike’s beat as well as place a review on how they feel about his beat. The feedback is not only a great marketing tool for Mike, but is also provides Mike with great publicity because his beat receives a lot of hits and positive feedback. Now, Mike’s beats begin to steadily climb the charts and soon make it into BeatBuggy’s Top 25 Music Charts.

Step 3

A artist notices that Mike’s beat has received a lot of stars and reviews. The customer listened to Mike’s beat and thinks that his beat would be a great fit for his or her album and decides to purchase the beat.

The customer buys the beat at Mike’s asking price. Next, Mike receives payment by signing up for Paypal and logging into his BeatBuggy account. Mike then “Grant License” of the beat to the customer to complete the transaction.

Once this step is completed, the artist would simply download the track for his or her project. Members are encouraged to leave comments about their experience.

Step 4

BeatBuggy sends the artist an email with a PDF license paper that shows the buyer’s legal rights to the beat. The artist has now successfully purchased his or her beat and has legal rights to the product. He or she can then take the track to a recording studio and use their own creativity to produce a professional finished product.

It’s that simple, convenient, and easy to use! Why not join the fun right now by becoming a registered user of BeatBuggy?

What are the music charts all about?

We offer several different music genres, where you can find the genre charts ordered by rating and reviews.  The “Current Top Beat chart” is the most popular chart for producers. To calculate the Current Top Songs chart, we take all of the reviews that each song has received in the last 48 hours, add up the total number of stars from those reviews, and then rank the songs by their totals. (Listens do not matter when it comes to the charts.) So if your song has received one or more reviews in the last 48 hours, it'll be on the chart. If not, then it won't. This makes it easy for a newer song to rise up the chart and get noticed. It also makes it easy for an older song to fall down the chart as more and more of it's reviews grow older than 48 hours .

What's the difference between Non-Exclusive and Exclusive rights when you sell files?

A non-exclusive commercial license is an agreement between you and the buyer. This gives the buyer the right to use your beat in a song, track or mix in a commercial production. A buyer may sell the resulting song, track or mix independently or on a CD. The buyer does not own your beat. The buyer may not resell your beat in its exact original form (without mixing or adding vocals). A beat may be sold "non-exclusively" an unlimited number of times.

An exclusive commercial license is exactly the same as a non-exclusive commercial license except that the beat may only be sold once. Once the buyer successfully purchases the beat, it is removed from the BeatBuggy database and may not be sold again to any other buyer.

Does my material have to be registered for a copyright to be on BeatBuggy?

No. However, it is good to register your material. A direct link to the Library of Congress is included here and within the BeatBuggy site to assist in this process.
